Born April 22, 1921 in Meyersdale. Son of Gillian, Berkey and Viola Marie (Speicher) Walker. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife the former Rowena Nadine "Ronnie" Johnson to whom he was married 51 years, children, Mrs. Charles A. (Susan) Cober of Bernville and Mrs. Michael (Nancy) Morrison of Dexter, N.Y., three grandchildren, Eric and David Cober and Jeanne Merringer, and six step-grandchildren. Brother, of Mrs. Phyllis Rubble of Winter Haven, Fla., and Donald E. Walker married to the former Mildred Hallman of Rocky River, Ohio. Member of First Christian Church where he had served both as deacon and elder. A 1940 graduate of Somerset High School. World War II veteran of the US Army. Employed for the former Beatrice Foods Somerset Creamery retiring in 1983 with 43 years service. Member of VFW Post 554 and American Legion Post 181. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Pastor Daniel F. Nicksich officiating.
