Walker, 66, of Glades Pike Road, Bakersville passed on Nov. 8, 2001 at Somerset Hospital. Born July, 14, 1935 in Jefferson Twp. Son of the late Lee and Evelyn (Lyons) Walker. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Janet, (Ash) Walker, son Wilbert E., married to Vonda Kay, Walker of Bakersville, grandchildren, Justin, Denver, Adam and Ashlec Walker, all of Bakersville, and sister Lucille Miller of Smithfield. He was a graduate of Somerset Area High School in 1953 and the American School of Chicago in 1960 where he learned to be a tool-maker. He received his journeyman's apprenticeship in 1966 and owned and operated Laurel Plastics in Bakersville from 1964 until the present. He was the administrator for the Anti-Entropy Alternative Medicine Clinic in Somerset. He was a life member of the Bakersville Volunteer Fire Department where he served as president and chief in his career. He was a member and past treasurer of the Somerset County Ambulance Assn. He was a past president of the Somerset County Firemen's Assn. and was the fire school coordinator for several years. He was a Jefferson Twp. supervisor for 12 years and a Pa. Forest Fire Warden for 22 years. He was currently the Jefferson Twp. EMA coordinator and a member of the Somerset Chapter of Rotary Int. He belonged to the Laurel Ridge Sportsmen's Assn. and was treasurer of the Somerset School District Taxpayers Assn. He was a member and past president and council member of Mt. Zion Lutheran, Church in Bakersville. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, Somerset where a service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. pastor Dennis Doebler officiating.
