Winifred L. Walker, 81, Somerset, died Aug. 12, 2006, at her residence. Born April 18, 1925, in Somerset, daughter of the late Robert and Melda (Menser) Queer. Also preceded in death by brother, Jay Queer and a sister, Lona Mae Dickey. Survived by her husband, Ross E. Walker, to whom she was happily married for 64 years; children, David E. Walker and wife Joyce, Somerset; Allen R. Walker and wife Monika, Friedens; Mrs. Edward (Pamela S.) Seman, Somerset; Bruce W. Walker and wife Joyce, Somerset, Mrs. Bryce (Sarah B.) Clark, Normalville; and Mrs. Donald (Alyce M.) Lyons, Somerset. Also survived by 20 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Active member of the Somerset Congregation of Jehovah's Witness where she volunteered for their ministry. Former clerk for Newberry's, Picking Drug Store and Shumaker Clothing Store and was active in the Somerset Senior Center. She was family oriented and was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her smile will be missed by her family and those who knew her. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, the time of service, in the Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, Somerset. Michael Brown will officiate.
