Walsworth, 56, of Oak Knoll, Hollidaysburg, vice president of the Altoona unit of the Great A&P Tea Co., died unexpectedly at his home, Tuesday, Jan. 3. Born in Danville, N. Y., Feb. 21, 1910, he was a son of William E. and. Mary (Taylor) Walsworth. He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Caroline Sharp, and a sister, Mrs. William Leadbitter, Castleton-on-the-Hudson, N. Y. Walsworth was a member of, the First United Presbyterian Church, Hollidaysburg, where funeral services are being held today (Thursday), in charge of Leslie Axe Funeral Home of Altoona. A graduate of Rochester Business Institute, he joined A&P in Rochester, N. Y., in 1931, as sales manager of the Atlantic Commission division. He was named vice-president of the Altoona unit in September 1965, coming from Columbus, Ohio, where he was vice-president and unit head since 1962. He served throughout the six state territory of A&P's central division as divisional produce merchandiser, and was store superintendent in the Pittsburgh unit before moving to Columbus. Walsworth served as vice-president of the Pennsylvania Chain Store Council, and was a member of the American Business Club of Altoona and the Blairmont Country Club, where he was recently elected to the board of directors.
