    WALTER
    
    Bessie E. Walter, 97, Stoystown RD 1 (Ferrelton), died Jan. 7,
  1985, at Siemon Lakeview Manor Estate.  Born Jan. 17, 1887, in
  Brothersvalley Township, Somerset County, daughter of John and
  Rebecca (Hauger) Hoffman.  Preceded in death by parents; husband,
  Earl J., who died Aug. 18, 1979, to whom she was married for over 70
  years; also sisters: Minerva Christner, Matilda Pritts, Annie Lehman,
  Jennie Mostoller; and brothers: Ezra, Henry, Albert and Clayton. 
  Survived by sister, Lottie Sipe, Johnstown; and numerous nieces and
  nephews.  Long-time member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Boswell,
  where she was formerly active in various church organizations. 
  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Hoffman Funeral
  Home, Allegheny St., Boswell, where service will be held at 1:30 p.m.
  Friday, with the Rev. Walter L. Hafer Jr.  Interment, Somerset County
  Memorial Park.
