  Earl J. Walter, 92, Stoystown RD 1, (Ferrelton) died Aug. 18, 1979,
  at Seimon Nursing Home, Somerset.  Born July 10, 1887, in Milford
  Township, Somerset County, son of Irvin W. and Elizabeth (Hecker)
  Walter.  Preceded in death by parents, two brothers and three
  sisters.  Survived by widow, the former Bessie E. Hoffman, and these
  sisters: Mrs. Ivy Ross, Johnstown RD 4; Mrs. Nell Zimmerman, Berlin;
  and Mrs. Hazel Grubber, Pittsburgh; half-sister, Mrs. Dora Hostetler,
  Cairnbrook; and half-brother, Ray, Johnstown.  Member of St. Andrew's
  Lutheran Church, Boswell.  Retired employee of former Pittsburgh
  Consolidated Coal Co., Jenners.  Resident of the Jenner area for the
  past 70 years.  Celebrated 70th wedding anniversary Oct., 1978. 
  Friends received from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at Joseph H. Hoffman Funeral
  Home, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where service will be held 11 a.m.
  Tuesday, with the Rev. George A. Clark.  Interment, Somerset County
  Memorial Park.
