"Bob" 09/21/05 The New Republic January 7, 1923 - September 21, 2005 Elwood R. "Bob" Walter, 82, of (Summit Twp.) Garrett, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born January 7, 1923 in Summit Twp., he was a son of the late Austin and Phoebe (Burkholder) Walter. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ellajean (Burkholder) Walter; two brothers: John Critchfield and Saul Walter; and two sisters: Margaret Schaffer and Elsie Hoover. He is survived by three daughters: Peggy, wife of Oscar Marker, Garrett; Roberta, wife of Duane Lindeman, Meyersdale; and Tina, wife of Ronald Boyce, Meyersdale. Also five grandchildren: Larry Marker and his wife Sherri; Michele, wife of Fred Johnson; Christine Lindeman; Heather, wife of Bradley Romesberg; and Brett Boyce and his wife Debra; nine great-grandchildren: Renee Marker, Kimberly and Kelsie Marker, Austin and Larissa Johnson, Jack Lindeman, Drew Holler, McKenzie and Vincent Romesberg. Bob is also survived by his loyal companion Teddy. He was a life member of Center Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service was conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Timothy Shivler officiating.
