"Bud" Walters, 79, of Somerset, died July 28, 1990, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 10, 1910, in Rockwood. Son of the late Frank A. and Velma Grace (Christner) Walter. Survived by his wife, the former Geneva K. Martin, and these children: Mrs. Charles T. (Carol) Whitfield, Schellsburg RD 1, and James M. Walters, Indian Lake; also 3 grandchildren: Douglas, Nanette and Michael Whitfield. He was the brother of John R. Walter of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Joseph (Jane) Wagner, Lagovista, Texas. He was the founder and chairman of the board of Walters Tire Service Inc., Somerset; the former owner of Mountain Meadows Farm of New Baltimore. U.S. Army World War II veteran. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lodge 358, F.& A.M., Jaffa Temple, Altoona Consistory, American Legion Post 181 and the Somerset Country Club. He was a life member of the Somerset Fire Dept. He was past president of Somerset Community Hospital and past chairman of the Somerset Hospital Building Committee. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where service will be held at 10 am. Wednesday, Pastor H. James Meyers officiating.
