Born Sept. 5, 1930 in Garrett the son of Eugene Arthur and Blanche Beloye (Christner) Walters. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by wife the former Evelyn Jean Holiday to whom he was married 47 years. Daughter: Mrs. W. Jeffrey (Denise Lynn) Carey of Berlin, grandchildren: Cassandra Lhota of Indian Lake, Gabrielle Lhota, Sabrina Lhota and Madalyn Carey all of Berlin, great-grandson: Jacob Garrety of Berlin and beloved dogs Angel and Dollie. Member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ where he served as elder, deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and served on the Pastor Relations committee. Veteran of Korean War where he served as Sgt. with the U.S. Army, 1948 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School, 1949 graduate of Philadelphia Barber School. Owner and operator of Gene's Barber Shop in Somerset for 51 years. Somerset Lodge 358 F&AM, Altoona Consistor, Somerset County Shrine Club, Jaffa Drum and Bugle Corps, VFW Post 554. Friends received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ with the Rev. Glenn E. Sadler officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 202 West Union Street, Somerset, Pa. 15501.
