Warner, 88, Mill Run, died May 24, 2008, at his home. Born Jan. 30, 1920, in Belle Vernon, a son of the late Benjamin F. and Emma Barker Warner. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Ruth M. Smith Warner, in 1989; two brothers, Arthur and Ben Warner; and a sister, Edith Warner. He is survived by his children, Gail Boucher, Rockwood; David Warner and wife, Patty, New Centerville; Rick Warner and wife, Diana, Connellsville; Edward Warner and wife, Sherlyn, Mill Run; Ellen Warner, Naples, Fla.; Robert Warner, Palmyra; Jim Warner and wife, Debra, Star Junction; Marsha Popernack and husband, Kerry, Mill Run; Donna Bigham, Connellsville; and Mary Langton and husband, Robert, State College; 25 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Brown, Fayette City; Dorothy Reich, Charleroi; and Evelyn Paulman, Belle Vernon; and brother, George Warner and wife, Martha, Springfield, Mo. Mr. Warner was a retired steelworker, having been employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was also a self employed dairy farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Fayette City. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home Inc., Route 711, Melcroft, where service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday. Tom Hamer, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Normalville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army in memory of Charles B. Warner.
