WARNICK Grantsville, Maryland Mrs. Anna J. (Gnagey) Warnick, 73, well-known and much beloved Grantsville resident, died early Friday morning, November 20, at her apartment here, after a two-week's illness of pneumonia. Although Mrs. Warnick's health had been gradually failing her the past summer, she remained very active until two weeks before her death. Mrs. Warnick, a daughter of the late Jacob and Sarah Beachy Gnagey, was born October 30, 1869, at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Warnick. She spent her entire life in this community. On June 21, 1888, she was married to Noah Warnick, a highly esteemed native of this community, by Rev. J. W. Evans. She and her husband purchased and successfully operated the large farm adjoining her home place. Mrs. Warnick's hospitable farm home was widely known to and frequented by summer vacationers of Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and other nearby urban vicinities. Her husband preceded her in death eleven years ago this month. For the past few years Mrs. Warnick has resided at the Broadwater apartments. Mrs. Warnick joined the Trinity Reformed Church at New Germany in 1887 and transferred her membership to St. John's Reformed Church, at Grantsville, in 1921, where she remained a loyal and active member. She was a cherished member of the Grantsville Women's Guild. Surviving are two daughters, Lulu, Mrs. H. O. Miller, of Grantsville, and Ethel, Mrs. W. L. Dill, of Jerome, Pa., and three sons, Dalton and Harry of Cleveland, Ohio, and Cecil of Los Angeles, California; nine grandchildren, one of which is a Lieutenant at Aberdeen, Md., one sister, Mrs. Albert Warnick of Grantsville, and two brothers, Gideon J. Gnagey, of Grantsville, and C. J. Gnagey of Buffalo, N.Y. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon in St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church with Rev. Ira S. Monn, Salisbury, and Rev. Alvin J. Forry, pastor, officiating. Simple hymns, "Come Ye Disconsolate", "My Jesus as Thou Wilt", and "Just As I Am" were sung by the Choir; "One Sweet Solemn Thought" was sung by the Trio Mesdames A. J. Yoder, Mrs. H. J. Bender, and Mrs. Harry Yommer. Interment was in the Grantsville Cemetery. All of Mrs. Warnick's children, their husbands, wives, and her grandchildren were present for the funeral. Others who came from a distance to attend the services were Mrs. William Miller, Mrs. James Martin, Mrs. William Sigler, Miss Lucretia Warnick and David Parsons, Washington D.C.; Mrs. J. B. Whitacre, Cumberland; Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Sausman, Eileen and Junior Sausman, La Vale,; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Manohan, Frostburg; Miss Helen Miller, Friendsville; Mrs. Harold Seese, Mrs. William Blough, Mrs. Arthur Buskey, Mrs. Memrie Sheets, Jerome, Pa.
