Born June 18, 1903, at Friendsville, Md., she was a daughter of the late Eldridge M. and Addie (Friend) Coddington. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, A. Emmons Warnick, on Nov. 26, 1990; a sister, Ethel; and brothers, Claude, Frank, and an infant. Wamick was a retired auxiliary postal clerk with the Grantsville Post Office. A 1926 graduate of Frostburg Normal School, she was a school teacher and substitute teacher for the Garrett County Board of Education. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Friendsville, Md. Warnick served as a news reporter for the Oakland Republican, Meyersdale Republican and Cumberland Daily Newspapers. She served as secretary of the Grantsville Homemakers Club, and was a member of the Garrett County Historical Society, Springs Historical Society, Grantsville Firemen's Auxiliary and a charter member of the Grantsville Band Boosters. Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Warnick Fife, and husband, Tom, Grantsville; four brothers: James Coddington and wife, Grace, Greenwood, W.Va.; George Coddington and wife, Georgia, McHenry, Md.; Richard Coddington and wife, Pauline, Frostburg, Md.; Robert Coddington and wife, Emma, Woodbridge, Va.; three sisters: Florence Porter, Silver Spring, Md.; Dora Wells, Desert Hot Springs, Calif.; Marie Williams and husband, John "Jack," Baltimore, Md.; a sister-in-law, Maude Coddington, Accokeek, Md.; six grandchildren: Robert Fife and wife, Derlani, Oeiras, Portugal; R.T. Fife/MacDuff and wife, Elisa, Tallahassee, Fla.; Elena Fife, Grantsville, Md.; Thomas "Tchico" Fife and wife, Erica, Goiania, Brazil; Jefferson Fife and wife, Monica, Peabody, Mass.; Elianne Fife Durst and husband Gerry, Grantsville; and ten great-grandchildren; Anna Flavia, Christianne, Deborah Lee and Jonatas Fike; Mayer, Michelle and Mouzer Coelho; Daniel Fife, Roger Fife and Patricia Fife Durst. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral, Home, Grantsville, Md., Tuesday, May 28. Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at First Christian Church, Friendsville, Md., with Evangelist Galen Beitzel and Pastor Ivan J. Maust officiating. Interment, Grantsville Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to First Christian Church; Portugal Christian Mission/Robert Fife; or Comunidade Crista/Jefferson Fife.
