Wass, 65, of Addison RD 1, died Jan. 18, 1977, in the Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1911, in Addison Township, he was a son of the late George and Sophia (Richter) Wass. He is survived by his wife, the former Edna Lint, and the following children: John Lee, Glen David, and James Roger, all of Addison RD 1; and Helen E. Stairs of Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren; John Lee II, Debra Ann, Toni Lynette, and David Howard of Addison and Clayton and Amy Stairs of Baltimore, Md. There are three sisters: Mary Griffith, Edith Wright and Evelyn Wass all of Addison. Howard spent his entire life working on the Maple Valley Stock Farms. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Addison, the Volunteer Firemen's Company and the Addison Cemetery Association. Services were conducted Jan. 21 at the Humbert Funeral Home in Confluence. The ministers were Pastor Russell Kerns and Pastor McCurtis Allison. Interment in the Addison Cemetery.
