She was born Sept. 10, 1907, in Addison Township, a daughter of George F. and Sophia (Richter) Wass. Preceded in death by parents, brothers William and Howard Wass, and sisters Irene and Esther Wass, Edith Wright and Mary Griffith. She is survived by the following nephews and niece: Harold Griffith of Friendsville, Md.; Homer Griffith of Ohio; Ralph Wright, Glenn Wass and James Wass, all of Addison; and Helen Stairs of Baltimore, Md; and a number of great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews. She retired after 42 years as an elementary teacher for the Garrett County (Md.) Board of Education. She was a member of the Garrett County Teachers' Association and the Federal Teachers' Association. Also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Addison. A former member and president of the W.E.L.C.A. and church council. Former member of Camp Sequanota Board of Directors. Friends will be received from noon until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Humbert Funeral Home, Confluence. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Addison, with the Rev. William Triebe officiating. There will be no viewing at the church. Interment, Addison Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions to St. John's Lutheran Church, Addison.
