  FERN L. WATKINS
  
    Fern L. Watkins, 79, Hooversville RD 1, died May 28, 1982, at
  Windber Hospital.
    She was born Feb. 21, 1903, in Paint Township, Hooversville RD,
  daughter of Harvey and Jennie (Herring) Shaffer.  She was preceded in
  death by parents; husband, Forrest V.; infant daughter; sisters, Anna
  and Luna; and brothers, Wilbert, Elmer, Arthur, Leonard and Lloyd.
    She is survived by these children: Virginia, widow of Jack Dunne,
  Mentor, Ohio; Betty, widow of Paul Meyers, Hollsopple; Marion Miller,
  wife of Ernest Crumett, Hooversville RD 1; Robert, married to former
  Nancy Campbell, Grantsville, Md.; Donna Miller, wife of Kimmell
  Berkebile, Hooversville RD 1; and David "Van," married to former
  Elaine Thomas, Hollsopple; also 15 grandchildren, 16
  great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
    She was a sister of Mary Seese, Cleveland, Ohio; Gladys Croyle,
  Stoystown; Hulda Latta, Pittsburgh; Cletus Lohr, Hooversville; Harvey
  and Alton, both of Johnstown; and Paul, Portage.  Sister-in-law of
  Tolie Shaffer.  She was a member for 58 years of Sugar Grove Church
  of the Brethren where she served as deaconess for over 30 years and
  Hooversville Senior Citizens.
    Friends were received at the George E. Mason Funeral Home,
  Davidsville.  Funeral services were held at Sugar Grove Church of the
  Brethren, the Rev. Elvin Holsopple officiating.  Interment, Berkey
  Cemetery.
