He was born in Coketown, W. Va., a son of the late George and Margaret (Quinn) Watson. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary. He is survived by his widow, Caroline (Pyle) Watson; one son, Glenn, of Somerset. He was a brother of Mrs. Alec (Margaret) Monteiph of York; Joseph and Eugene of Philadelphia; Mrs. Lee (Anastasia) Jordan of Trucksville; Mrs. Will (Elizabeth) Hummel; and Charles and Paul of Allentown, all formerly of Somerset County. He served in the Pa. National Guard, Company C, in Somerset for 13 years. He was well known as owner and operator of several restaurants in Somerset. He also operated his own dancing school in Somerset Borough, instructing ballroom and tap dancing for several years. He was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Somerset. After 1942, he was employed by the federal government. He retired in 1967, due to illness. He was a member of St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church, MacDonaldton. Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday at St. Gregory's Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Father Zachary Monet officiating. Interment, St. John's Cemetery. The Republic, June 9, 1977 [W0533]
