Watson Sad Fate of Member of Senior Class of Meyersdale High School James A. Watson, 17, Meyersdale High School student, died last Saturday at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, while under an anesthetic for an operation. He suffered a fracture of the left arm several months ago and the injury failed to heal. He was undergoing an operation to have the bone reset when he collapsed and died. A son of Samuel and Della (Hare) Watson of 107 North St., he was born on April 10, 1927. He was a member of the sophomore class of M.H.S. and was also a member of the Main Street Brethren Church. In addition to his parents he leaves a brother, Earl, a member of the Army Air Forces, stationed in the South Pacific; three sisters, Marie, Akron, O., and Gladys and Doris at home, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Watson of North St. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the parental home by Rev. Kenneth A. Ashman. Interment in Union Cemetery under the direction of H. R. Konhaus. Meyersdale Republican, May 11, 1944
