Weaver, one of Garrett's oldest citizens, most highly esteemed, died at his home on Centre Street Tuesday morning April 11 at 4:20 a. m. after, having suffered from an attack of bronchial pneumonia only ten days. Mr. Weaver was born in Keedysville, Maryland Feb. 2, 1833. He was married to Miss Minnie Zimmerman, June 20, 1869 at Cumberland. They moved to Garrett and have resided here ever since they were married. Mr. Weaver served as a teamster all during the Civil war for the Union Army. He was a member of the Grace Reformed Church of Garrett ever since its organization and remained a constant member up to the time of his death. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Edward, Philip, Henry of Garrett; Joe of Poland, Ohio; one son, William, preceded him to the grave; he is also survived by 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. The funeral service was held on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock in the Lutheran church and was conducted by his pastor, H. H. Wiant who was assisted by Rev. H. B. Carney.
