Mrs. Mary Alice MacDonald Weaver, wife of John H. Weaver, and a former resident of Confluence, died at her home in Smithfield on Sunday, November 23. Mrs. Weaver was a daughter of the late George and Cornelia Flanagan MacDonald. She was born in Confluence on November 25th, 1886. After receiving her education in the Fayette County schools, she entered the teaching profession and taught three terms in the schools of Confluence and vicinity. Mr. and Mrs. Weaver were married November 15, 1907 and moved to Smithfield in 1920 where Mr. Weaver was employed as an engineer by the Baltimore and Ohio R.R. She was a member of the Confluence Methodist Church and the Presbyterian Church in Smithfield. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Faye McKinney of Cleveland, Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Connity of New Haven, Conn.; and one brother, Ernest MacDonald of Youngstown, Ohio. The funeral service was held at her home on Wednesday morning followed by additional rites in the Confluence Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Baptist Cemetery on West Side in Confluence.
