All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/somerset/ ________________________________________________ JULIA MAE WECHTENHEISER Mystery surrounds the death of Mrs. Julia Mae Wechtenheiser, of Jerome, wife of Francis Wechtenheiser, who died very suddenly at her home at 6:30 a.m., March 5. She had been enjoying good health and was found violently ill by her husband on Tuesday evening, March 3, when he returned home from work. Three physicians were called, but the exact cause of her death was not determined. So on Thursday afternoon a postmortem examination was held at the mortuary of J. O. Hay of Boswell, where the body was prepared for burial. Mrs. Emily (Kimmel) Fluck, Deputy Coroner of Somerset County, was present. The contents of the stomach were forwarded to Philadelphia for chemical analysis. Mrs. Wechtenheiser was aged 24 years, 1 month and 19 days. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Clara, aged 7 years, and Grace, 5 years old; her mother, Mrs. Isabella Hartland, formerly of Coal Run; one brother, Jacob Hartland, Jerome, and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Krause and Mary Leydig, both of Pittsburgh. The funeral was held Sunday at 10 a.m. in the Pentecostal Church at Boynton; burial in the family lot at St. Paul. Among those who attended the funeral were Mrs. Clara Krause, Mrs. Mary Leydig and children, Mrs. C. F. Rudolph and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wechtenheiser, all of Pittsburgh, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hutzel, of Glencoe. Meyersdale Republican, March 12, 1931
