Mr. Wedge's condition had been critical for three weeks. He was born September 4, 1868, and he was the son of Mary Anne and Charles Wedge. He was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Flickinger on June 27, 1899. Eleven children were born of this union, eight of whom survive: Mrs. Mary C. Needham of Allegany, N.Y.; Mrs. Charles Miller of Somerset; Louther D. of Smithfield; William T. of York Run; Mrs. Dessie Bittner of Meyersdale; Charles E. of York Run; John A. of Boynton, and Arthur L. at home. A sister, Mrs. Clara Scott of Ligonier, and a brother, Isaac, of Oneco, Florida, also survive. In addition to the above survivors, Mr. Wedge also had 24 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with a brief prayer service at the home in Trans-Meyersdale and then at the Main Street Brethren Church by the Rev. Sibert of Pittsburgh. Three selections, "Near To The Heart of God", "In the Upper Garden", and "The Eastern Gate" were rendered by Mrs. Floyd Sibert, Mrs. Harry Berkshire and Edgar Berkshire during the services. Miss Frances Stalker presided at the piano. Interment followed at the Union Cemetery in the family plot under the direction of W. C. Price and Son. The pallbearers were William Landis, Lloyd Peck, Robert Peck, Orville Folk, John Mimmie and Charles Martz. Mr. Wedge was a resident of Summit Township during the greater part of the last 50 years. He was a coal miner during most of his adult years. He was employed in the mines around Meyersdale for many years, and when work in the local coal mines got slack, he moved to Fayette County and worked in the mines there until his health got so bad that he had to give up work underground. He suffered from miners' asthma for many years. Before he removed to Fayette County he lived at Scratch Hill a few miles northeast of Meyersdale. When he moved back from Fayette County he established his home at Trans-Meyersdale. Mr. Wedge was a very industrious, hard-working, honest man and exemplary citizen. He was a member of the Men's Bible Class of the Main Street Brethren Church and a regular attendant of church and Sunday school as long as his health permitted. Among the friends and relatives from out of town who attended were Mrs. Clara Scott, Ligonier; Mrs. Emma Baker, Fairhope; Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Wedge, Smithfield; Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Darrel, Smithfield; Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Wedge and children, and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Wedge and children, York Run; Mr. and Mrs. W. J.
