Weigle, 81, of Listie, died suddenly Nov. 28, 1977, in his residence. He was born July 28, 1896, in Stoneycreek Twp., a son of the late Albert and Lydia (Spangler). He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, brother, sister, and granddaughter. He is survived by his wife Eliza Glessner and these children: Ruth, wife of Harry Barndt, Johnstown; Verda, wife of Walter Lopez, Venice, Florida; Delbert of Listie; Hazel, wife of Elmer Hicks, Orlando, Florida; Betty, wife of James Alumbaugh, Somerset; Clarence of Greensburg; Guy of Rescue, Virginia; and Mrs. Marilyn Cramer, Listie; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and these brothers and sisters: Cloyd and Ray, both of Listie; Eugene and Dayton, both of Friedens RD; Mrs. Ned Weimer, Somerset RD 5; Mrs. Everett Rummell, Cleveland, Ohio; and Mrs. Harry Bowman. Anchorage Alaska. Death terminated a marriage union of 60 years. He was an active Construction Labor Organizer in Somerset, Bedford, and Fulton Counties where he started and served as business manager of Laborers' Local Union 419 in Listie from 1936 until his retirement June 28, 1968. He was also a member of the Executive Board of Laborers District Council of Western Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh where he served until his retirement. He was also a retired coal miner and member of United Mine Workers of America (UMW), Local 1742 in Jenners. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles (FOE), Somerset Lodge 1801. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, number 48 in Johnstown. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Robert H. Halverson Funderal Home were services will be conducted Friday at 1:30 p.m., with his grandson, the Rev. Larry Weigle, Pastor of Reading Grace Brethren Church, officiating.
