Weigle, 72, of Sand Rock Road, Friedens, died Sept. 20, 1997 at Patriot Manor, Somerset. Born Oct. 17, 1924, in Stonycreek Township, son of Harvey M. and Clara (Suder) Weigle. Preceded in death by parents; brothers: Glenn, Melvin, William, Ernest and Nevin; sisters: Ethel Onstead and Myrtie Fritz. Survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Helen Smith; son, R. Lynn, married to former Esther Mostoller, Friedens; grandson, Jeremy Lynn. Brother of Harry, Berlin, and Pauline Baumgardner, Friedens. A retired salesman for Servos Seed Co. and Furst-McNess Co. A World War II Army veteran. Member of Faith Lutheran Church. Member and former master of Somerset Grange. Also member of county, state and national Granges; Shanksville American Legion Post 911 and DAV. Family received friends Sunday evening and will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, Rev. Randall Marburger officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park.
