Weigle, 80, Somerset RD 2, died May 12, 1988, in Somerset Community Hospital. Born Nov. 5, 1907, in Stonycreek Township, son of the late Harvey and Clara (Suder) Weigle. He was preceded in death by brothers Melvin, Ernest, Glenn and sister Ethel Onstead; also by first wife, the former Marian Miller. Survived by his wife, the former Mary (Baldwin) Suter; children: Donald, Berlin; Robert and Kenneth, Berlin RD 1; Bernice, wife of Roy Walker, Somerset RD 5; and William, Garrett; stepchildren: Mrs. Herbert Stahl, Somerset RD 6; Alice Young, Lancaster, Ohio; Patricia Wagner and Lynn Suter, both of Sarasota, Fla.; Marjorie Francis, of Venice, Fla.; and Robert Cuter, Somerset RD 7; 45 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Mertie Fritz, Somerset; Nevin, Friedens RD 2; Harry, Berlin RD 1; Pauline Baumgardner, Friedens; and Ray, Friedens RD 2. He was a member of the Roxbury United Church of Christ and was associated with the Samuel's Lutheran Church for the past 20 years. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Berlin American Legion Post. Was a retired cattle dealer. Friends will be received 7-9 p.m. Saturday and after 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home, where service will be conducted Monday 10:30 a.m., Pastor Gregory R. Pile officiating. Interment, Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Daily American, May 14, 1988 [W0681]
