He had been in ill health for a number of years prior to his death, and had moved from Salisbury to his old home, where he died. Mr. Weimer was born in Greenville Township, a son of Ozias and Elizabeth (Breig) Weimer, on January 7, 1880. He was aged 65 years, 8 months and 29 days at his death. After his sister, Mary, had met and married Eugene Althoff of Gettysburg, he met Mr. Althoff's sister, Blanche Mary, and married her at nuptial high mass in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Taneytown, Maryland, on November 19, 1907. His sister, Martha, married another brother, Leo, after World War I, when he returned from service overseas. His wife preceded him in death by 22 months, having died on December 15, 1943. About five years after his marriage, Mr. Weimer moved to Salisbury, where he lived until just a few years ago, when his health began to fail. His four younger sons all resided here until three of them entered the service of their country, in the last war. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Elizabeth Maust, and John P. Weimer, both of Gettysburg, Route 1; Joseph B. Weimer, Salisbury; T/Sgt Ozias Weimer, with the Army Engineers in Europe and alerted for return to the States; Wilbur F. Weimer, just discharged from the Army, and M/Sgt Robert Leo Weimer, home on furlough from the Army Air Force; by six grandchildren; and by the following brothers and sisters: Edward F. Weimer, Avilton, Md.; George C. Weimer, Frostburg, Md.; Annie, wife of Thomas McKenzie, Avilton, Md.; Mary, wife of Eugene Althoff, and Martha, wife of Leo Althoff, both of Gettysburg, Route 1; Esther, wife of Alvin Garlitz, Birmingham, Mich.; James H. Weimer of Mt. Savage, Md., and John A., Lawrence and Anthony Weimer, Greenville Township, and a sister, Mary Veronica of the Sisters of St. Joseph at St. Mary's Convent, at St. Claire, Pa. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Samuel, and one sister, Agnes, wife of Joseph Merchberger, Detroit, Mich. Requiem high mass was sung at St. Joseph's Church at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10th. Interment in the St. Joseph's Cemetery at Taneytown, Md., in charge of Bender & Son, funeral directors of Gettysburg. Meyersdale Republican, October 18, 1945
