Weimer, whose maiden name was Blanche Mary Althoff, was born April 2, 1883, at Fairfield, Pa., and died Dec. 15, 1943, at her home near New Chester, Pa., aged 60 years, 8 months and 13 days. Her death was caused by a complication of diseases, which afflicted her during the last few years. However, she was bedfast only a week. She was a daughter of Joseph E. and Anna M. (Crosta) Althoff. On Nov. 19, 1907, she was united in marriage with Alfred J. Weimer, a native of Greenville Township, Somerset County, Pa. The high requiem mass was sung for her at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Taneytown, Md., at which place she was laid to rest, after having been married a little more than 36 years. She and her husband lived near New Chester during the last two years, coming there from Salisbury, after a residence there for some thirty years. During her residence at Salisbury, Mrs. Weimer was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in West Salisbury, and at the time of her death, a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church at New Oxford, Pa. Mrs. Weimer is survived by her husband, who now resides at New Oxford, and by these children, Mrs. Elizabeth Maust, New Oxford; John P. Weimer, Gettysburg; Joseph B. Weimer, Salisbury; Staff Sergeant Robert Leo Weimer, somewhere in Italy; Pvt. Wilbur F. Weimer, South Carolina. Surviving also are five grandchildren and eleven sisters and brothers. Funeral services were held last Saturday morning at 8 o'clock, at the Bender Funeral Home in Gettysburg. The body was then taken to Taneytown, Md., for interment in the Catholic cemetery, where also rest the remains of Mrs. Weimer's parents, two sisters and a brother. Those from Salisbury and vicinity who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Weimer and son, Ronald, of Salisbury, and John and Lawrence Weimer of Greenville Township. Mrs. Ozias Weimer of Homer City, Pa., Mr. and Mrs. James Weimer of Mt. Savage, Md., also attended the funeral. Mrs. Weimer was a woman of very exemplary character, and was a devoted wife and mother.
