Weimer, 74, of Acosta, died July 7, 1988, Somerset Community Hospital. Born March 16, 1914, in Garrett County, Md., son of the late William and Elizabeth (Meerbach) Weimer. Preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Grove, an infant daughter, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, one sister, Kate, and two brothers, John and Clarence. He is survived by his wife, Irene (Tressler) Weimer, and these children: Arlene M. Dundore of Rome, Ohio; Penny Maurer, Pineville, La.; Christopher S., Jr., Acosta; William Lee, Somerset; Melody Sodano and Lorene Trent, both of Boswell; and Pamela Sue, at home; also, 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. These sisters and brothers: Norma Thomas of Somerset; Anna Shortt, Salisbury; Caroline Geisweidt, Meyersdale; Harry, Lonaconing, Md.; and Harvey Brown, Salisbury. He was a retired coal miner and member of U.M.W. of A., Local 1746, and Jenner Rod and Gun Club. Friends received 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday (today) in Robert H. Halverson Funeral Home where services will be conducted Sunday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Samuel E. Charlton officiating. Interment, Salisbury Cemetery.
