Born June 3, 1912, in Milford Township. Son of the late Reid Ambrose and Susan Elizabeth (Hay) Weimer. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary Grace Knepper, who died Jan. 26, 1991; a son, George Weimer; two brothers, William and Reid Weimer; and one sister, Nellie Wingert. Survived by these children: William J. Weimer, married to the former Arlene Francis, Somerset RD 4; Mrs. Ann Burns, Erie; Mrs. Helen Leer, Somerset RD 1; Jay R. Weimer, married to the former Pamela Barron, West Chester, Pa.; David E. Weimer, married to the former Judith Young, Somerset RD 1; Fred E. Weimer, married to the former Nancy Stahl, North Huntingdon, Pa.; Joseph A. Weimer, married to the former Sue Ella Saylor, Somerset. Also 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Brother of Mrs. Robert (Leah) McMillan, Frederick, Md., and Mrs. Leafa MacArthur, Gastonia, S.C. Member of Samuel's Lutheran Church, IOOF Lodge 438, New Centerville Lions Club, past president of New Centerville and Rural Volunteer Fire Company and past president of Somerset County Horse and Mule Association. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Samuel's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Robert L. Hoover Jr. officiating. Interment, Samuel's Cemetery. Viewing at the church from 1 p.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Samuel's Lutheran Church or Samuel's Cemetery, RD 6, Somerset, Pa. 15501, or Somerset In Touch Hospice, 651 S. Center Ave., Somerset, Pa. 15501.
