ELIZABETH BREIG WEIMER

  Mrs. Elizabeth (Breig) Weimer, wife of Ozias Weimer, both long time residents 
of Greenville Township, passed away at the Weimer home, near the Baker School, 
at 6 o'clock, Sunday evening, October 4th, at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 
3 days.  Her death was due to the infirmities of age.  She was born in 
Salisbury, Jan. 1, 1852, a daughter of the late Ambrose and Margaret Breig.
  Mrs. Weimers' eye-sight failed about ten years ago and she became totally 
blind.  Despite this handicap she was able to do a considerable amount of 
knitting and other handwork, and bore her affliction cheerfully.  Several times 
during the past few years she was critically ill, and several months ago 
suffered a slight stroke of paralysis and since then grew increasingly weaker 
until the end came peacefully Sunday evening, with all her living children, save 
one, around her.  One son, Bernard, died about twelve years ago and her son 
Samuel preceded her in death by four days.
  She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church, at West Salisbury, where 
funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 8th, by her pastor, 
Rev. Father Howard T. Miller.  Interment in the church cemetery.  R. Reich & Son 
were the undertakers in charge.
  Mrs. Weimer is survived by her husband and the following children:  Edward, of 
Avilton, Md.; Alfred, of Salisbury, Pa.; Lawrence and John, at the parental 
home; George, residing on an adjoining farm; James, of Mt. Savage, Md.; Mrs. 
Eugene Althoff, Gettysburg; Mrs. Leo Althoff, of York, Pa.; Mrs. Thomas 
McKenzie, of Avilton, Md.; Mrs. Alvin Garlitz and Mrs. Joseph Merschbaher, of 
Birmingham, Mich., and Sister Mary Veronica, of Philadelphia.  She is also 
survived by several sisters and brothers, namely: George Breig of Vandergrift, 
Pa.; Mrs. Mary A. Stacer, Meyersdale; Mrs. Martha Harley, Salisbury; Mrs. Eva 
Kemp, Meyersdale.  She leaves, also, 62 grandchildren and 22 great-
grandchildren.
