Weimer, 82, died Tuesday night at the home of his son, Park M. Weimer, in Westview, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness caused by a series of paralytic strokes. One of eight children, he was the oldest son of Harrison J. and Catherine (Hoover) Weimer and was born at Beachdale on Oct. 11, 1862. In his young manhood, he was united in marriage with Miss Jeannette Gahring. He was employed when a young man by the W. H. Reitz Manufacturing Company of Baltimore, at Somerset, and later in Piqua, O. He was the first engineer of the Somerset Water Company. About 1901, Mr. Weimer accepted a position with the Hocking Coal Company as machinist and electrician and moved to Meyersdale, where he resided until 15 years ago when he returned to Somerset. He was a member of Somerset Lodge No. 438, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the First United Brethren Church of Somerset. In addition to the son mentioned, he leaves a brother, George W. Weimer, Lancaster, and three grandchildren - Mrs. Mary Rudolf and Miss Bebe Weimer, both of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Betty Hilgendorf, Clarksburg, W.Va. Four great- grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon by Rev. B. F. Bungard, D.D., pastor of the Somerset United Brethren Church. Interment will be in Somerset County Memorial Park.
