He had been in ill health for a period of three years, the direct cause of his death being a heart attack. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Helen A., and the following children: Harold, Harry, Robert, and Gerald, at home; Mrs. Thomas Jackson, Uniontown; Foster Welch, and Mrs. Wendell Triplett, Mt. Sterling, Pa.; also seven grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Frank Welch, Wellsburg, W.Va.; Mrs. Sarah Shultz, Outcrop, Pa., and Mrs. Alice Grove, of this place. Mr. Welch, with the exception of the last 10 years, spent his entire life in Selbysport. While living here he was both merchant and farmer; also a trustee of the M. E. Church, here, of which he was a consistent member up to the time of his death. After moving to Pennsylvania 10 years ago, he held various positions with the Whyel Coal and Coke Co., and was postmaster at Mt. Sterling, Pa., for several years. The funeral services were held in his home in Uniontown. Rev. Shay of the Selbysport M. E. Church delivered the funeral address. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. Those from here who attended the funeral were Mrs. Alice Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Yutzy, Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Fisher, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Frantz and son, Jack.
