WELKER, Mary M.

Mary M. Welker, 89, Libertyville, Ill., passed away Sept. 22, 2006, at the 
Balmoral Care Center, Lake Forest, Ill. She was born Aug. 18, 1917, in 
Morrisdale and was a resident of Friedens for many years. She is preceded in 
death by her husband of 65 years, Wendell in 2002; an infant daughter, Wendy 
Kay; and her brother, Merle Nicholas. Surviving are two children, Janet (Tracy) 
Narby, Libertyville, Ill.; and Terry (Gloria) Welker, Dallastown; four 
grandchildren, Megan (David) Mitchell, Mindy (Karl) Marty, Darren (Ann) Welker 
and Dana (Ryan) McGurk; six great-grandchildren, Jenna and Jack Mitchell, Sydney 
and Nathan Welker, Max Marty and Alex McGurk; her brother-in-law, Cloyd (Tootie) 
Welker; sister-in-law, Romaine Trent; and many nieces and nephews. The Welkers 
moved to Largo, Fla., in 1983, where they enjoyed their retirement years. Mary 
belonged to numerous organizations and was an active volunteer, always helping 
friends and neighbors at Ranchero Village in Largo. A memorial service will be 
held at 11 a.m. Oct. 21 at Friedens Lutheran Church. Memorial donations may be 
directed to their Community Ministry Fund. Arrangements by Deaner Funeral Home, 
Stoystown.
