Weller died unexpectedly last Thursday afternoon after two days of critical illness and after more than four years of semi-invalidism. She was 27 years old on the 29th of June. Laura was of a serious, quiet disposition leaning toward religious activities and was a member of the Church of the Brethren since young womanhood. She was also a charter member of the Sisterhood of Mary and Martha of the Brethren Church and held various offices therein. As she never complained of her physical infirmities, we too, prefer to minimize them and remember her as a serious dark-eyed girl who passed our home at 9 a.m. regularly every Sunday while building a record for perfect attendance of more than 13 years. She was the daughter of Charles W. and Barbara (Opel) Weller. She is survived by her parents, two brothers, Harvey, Paw Paw, W.Va., and Earl, at home, and three sisters, Margaret, at home, Mrs. Dorothy Lehman, Berlin R.D., and Mrs. Mary E. Yoder, at home. Brief services were conducted at the home at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon and later services at the Church of the Brethren, Summit Mills, conducted by Rev. DeWitt L. Miller, of Meyersdale. Burial was made in the Lichty Cemetery. H. R. Konhaus, mortician, had charge of the arrangements. Meyersdale Republican, July 18, 1940
