Gerald Welsh, 42, of Mansfield, Ohio, formerly of Somerset County, died March 13, 1977, in the Mansfield General Hospital. He was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Somerset, a son of Ray and Melvern Howard Welsh. He is survived by his wife, Lois Baer Welsh, of Mansfield; three sons, Gerald, Jammie and Danny, and one daughter, Teri, all at home; two brothers, Ray of Listie and Fred of Rockwood; four sisters, Mrs. Charles Nicholson of Cumberland, Md.; Mrs. Jean Patselevas of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Orville Kregar of Somerset and Mrs. James Hay of Cleveland, Ohio; also by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Barr of Rockwood RD 1. He was pastor of Westwod Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Mansfield for the past six months. His other pastorships included: the Jamesville, Wis. Christian Missionary Alliance Church (CMAC); the Wabash, Ind. CMAC, the Windham, Ohio CMAC and the Frankfurt, Ind. CMAC. He was a graduate of Ft. Wayne, Ind. Bible College and was ordained in 1965 at Tioga Falls, Ohio. Friends will he received in the William J. Wood Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday and until 11 a.m. Wednesday; when the remains will be removed to the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Somerset to lie in state until 1:30 p.m., the time of services with the Rev. N. E. Fye, the Rev. James Hay and the Rev. Chester (Jack) Hay officiating. Interment, Rockwood IOOF Cemetery. Daily American, March 14, 1977 [W0865]
