Born March 6, 1930 in Windber, son of Harry and Helen (Mason) Wendle. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Mildred Janet Pile, who died Oct. 2, 2000; 2 sisters, Pauline Wendle and Mac Smith; and 2 brothers, Harry and Charles Wendle. Survived by a daughter Mrs. Edwin F. (Cindy Vought) Mayak of Stoystown and 2 grandsons, J. Brandon and William Wendle Lane. Equipment operator for PennDOT, retiring in 1988 with 30 years of service. Member of F.O.E. Aerie 1801 of Somerset. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Sherman H. Berkey officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Somerset "In Touch" Hospice, 1590 N.
