Born June 24, 1934, she is the daughter of the late Ernest and Emma (Lohr) Miller. She is preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Livengood. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Budd A. Wengerd, three daughters, Beth Green and husband, Don, Salisbury; Lisa Tissue and husband, Rod, Hagerstown, Md. and Trina Wengerd, Canonsburg; one brother, Mark Miller, Connecticut; and four grandchildren, Chelsea and Jared Green and Hannah and Lydia Tissue. A graduate of Salisbury-Elk Lick High School and Catherman's Business School, Mrs. Wengerd had been employed by National Jet and Miller Machine Works. Most recently, she was the executive secretary at Wengerd Roofing Company. She was an active member of Springs Mennonite Church, where she had served as organist, song leader, mentor and Bible School and Sunday School teacher. As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she was a fabulous cook, a gracious hostess and she was happiest when her family was "all under one roof." Her hobbies included reading and gardening, she was adept at solving crossword puzzles. Possessing the gift of encouragement, she gave of herself to others willingly and without hesitation. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Md. A memorial service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday at Springs Mennonite Church. The Rev. Steven Heatwole and the Rev. Earl Yoder officiating. Private interment will be in Springs Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ruth Enlow Library, Grantsville Branch or Springs Mennonite Church.
