WENRICH Paul Elmer Wenrich, 79, of the Cumberland Arms Apartments, 10 North Liberty Street, died Thursday, May 23, 1985 at Lions Manor Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for six weeks. Born in Cumberland, Md., he was a son of the late George W. Wenrich and Mamie (Martin) Wenrich. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a retired mechanic in the engineering department of the Celanese Fibers Corporation's Amcelle plant. He was a life member of five local organizations - Aerie 245, Fraternal Order of Eagles; Henry Hart Post 1411, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Cooties up Tent 12; Fort Cumberland Post 13, American Legion; and 40 and 8 No. 148. His wife, the former Alma Mae Miller, died in 1969. Surviving are three stepdaughters: Mrs. Lorraine Often, LaVale, Md.; Mrs. Alvin Weiner, Boca Raton, Fla.; Mrs. Johnny Hyson, Grantsville, Md.; one sister, Mrs. Margaret A. Smith, Cumberland, and five stepgrandchildren. Friends were received at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence where services were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. William A. Moyer, pastor of Grace Community Church. Interment, Zion Memorial Park, Bedford Road, where full military honors were accorded by local veterans' organizations. The Republic, June 6, 1985 [W0888]
