  Martha M. Wentz, 79, of Stoystown, formerly of Ferrellton, died Jan.
  13, 1997, at her residence.  Born Nov. 26, 1917, in Kimmelton,
  daughter of Daniel and Orpha (Hoffman) Escherich.  Preceded in death
  by parents; husband Orville, on Sept. 11, 1991; sister, Helen
  Wheeler, and brother, Albert Escherich.  Survived by son, William,
  married to Lynne White of Concord, Calif.; grandchildren: Christian,
  Gretchen and Joshua.  Sister of Evelyn Schreffler, William Escherich
  and Faye Matse, all of Stoystown.  Former owner of the former Hi-Way
  Market, Ferrellton.  Member of Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown,
  where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. Walter L.
  Startzel officiating.  No viewing at the church.  Family will receive
  friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. 
  Interment, Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
