  April 26, 1927 - December 9, 2003
  
    Alston W. Wenzel, 74 of Meyersdale, died Tuesday, December 2003, at
  Beverly Healthcare, Meyersdale.
    He was born April 26 1927, in Meyersdale, son of the late Alston D.
  Wenzel and Ellen M. (Gress) Wenzel.
    He was preceded in death by wife, Doris Elaine Wenzel.
    He is survived by sons; Earl D. Wenzel of Dry Prong, La.; and
  Jeffrey W. Wenzel of Elkins, W. Va.; six grandchildren and three
  great-grandchildren.  He is also survived, by sisters: Ellen Murray
  of Salisbury; Kay Griffith and Ruth McKinney, both of Ellenton, Fla.;
  and brother John Wenzel of Dale City, Va.; and best friends Floyd and
  Donna Hetrick of Meyersdale.
    He retired from the U.S. Navy.  He was a member of the V.F.W. and
  the American Legion and was a dedicated veteran.
    Upon his request there will be no viewing and no services.  In lieu
  of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
    Arrangements were in charge of the M. Ray Leckemby Funeral Home,
  Meyersdale.
