Werdebaugh, 82, of Deer Park, MD, formerly of Oakland, MD, died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 1990, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, MD. Born May 8, 1907 at Plum Run, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Dora A. (Bishop) Bathalow. She was preceded in death by her husband Luther in 1984, and one daughter, one son, one sister, and two brothers. Surviving are six daughters, Thelma Sines, Springs; Laura Friend, Louise Lewis and Alice Welch, all of Oakland, MD; Patsy Sines, Lagrange, Ohio; Linda White, Deer Park, MD; six sons, James R. Werdebaugh and Harry E. Werdebaugh, both of Oakland, MD; the Rev. William L. Werdebaugh, Dundalk, MD; David C. Werdebaugh, Jack A. Werdebaugh and Ronald A. Werdebaugh, all of Wellington, Ohio. Also surviving are three sisters, Edith Clark, Potter Township; Ruth A. Everts, Needmore; Bertha E. Cooper, Chambersburg; three brothers, Virgil H. Bathalow and Luther Bathalow, both of Chambersburg; Howard Bathalow, Kissimmee, Fla.; 44 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, MD, where services were conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Gail Hixon. A graveside service was held Saturday at 3 p.m. in Catalpa Cemetery, Hancock, MD. Grandsons served as pallbearers. The Republic, March 1, 1990 [W0903]
