His death was caused by dropsy and cancer. He was a son of the late Paul and Lavina Deal Werner, also of Greenville Township, and was a farmer by occupation. He is survived by his wife, Rosa (Stinely) Werner, and by two sisters, Mrs. John Shunk of Salisbury, and Mrs. George Baer of Greenville Township. A funeral service was conducted at the Werner home at 2 p.m. today (Thursday), and at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mark's Evangelical and Reformed Church, at Pocahontas; both services were conducted by Rev. J. E. Gindlesperger. Burial in the Greenville Cemetery under the direction of Stanley M. Thomas, mortician, of Salisbury. Meyersdale Republican, August 7, 1941
