Werner, 95, of Louisville, Ohio, died at the Walnut Hills Nursing Home in Walnut Creek, OH. Born in Meyersdale on April 19, 1898, he was a son of the late John and Mary Anna (Bingner) Werner. He was retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of the Paradise United Church of Christ in Louisville and a former member of the Odd Fellows. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Laura Grace Steinley, in 1964; and his second wife, Hazel Geiger, in 1980; and three sisters: Bertha Schrock, Minnie Wahl and Ollie Werner. He is survived by three daughters: Mary Anna Sherman and Grace Lesh, both of Lyons, Colo.; June Schorsten of Canton, Ohio; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services were held at the Stier-Israel Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment, Sunset Hills Burial Park. Meyersdale New Republic, May 5, 1994 [W0938]
