SIMON WERNER

  Simon Werner, 85, of Meyersdale R.D. 2, died Sunday at the home of his son-in-
law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Hay with whom he made his home.  He was 
born Jan. 9, 1863, in Somerset County, son of Frederick and Emma Deist Werner.
  He is survived by his son, Howard Werner, daughter, Mrs. Hay, mentioned, eight 
grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Susan Shockey of Boswell.  He was a life-member 
of Amity Evangelical and Reformed Church and a member of the Owis Lodge.
  Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Konhaus Funeral Home, 
Meyersdale, with the Rev. H. K. Hilner officiating.  Burial in Union Cemetery.
