Werner, died at 11:15 o'clock Wednesday morning at her home in Somerset. She was born on January 17, 1862, in Milford Township, a daughter of James B. and Nancy (Reiman) Critchfield. Surviving are three children: James B. Werner, editor Somerset Democrat, Miss June E. Werner, Somerset, and Charles G. Werner of Johnstown, a mining engineer for the Bethlehem Steel Co. Her husband, Edward H. Werner, was editor of the Somerset Democrat until his death on October 26, 1934. Before he became editor of the Somerset Democrat he had been engaged in newspaper work in Meyersdale and Rockwood. He also was clerk to the County Commissioners for some time. Mrs. Werner was a member of the Lutheran Church. Funeral arrangements, which are incomplete, will be under the direction of E. S. Landis, Somerset mortician. Meyersdale Republican, January 8, 1942
