Werner, 90, Meyersdale, died Sept. 2, 1987, at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born March 20, 1897, in Brothersvalley Township, a son of the late Josiah and Lidia (Stahl) Werner. Survived by his wife, the former Miriam Hay; a daughter, Nancy Jane Werner, Pittsburgh; one sister, Mrs. Edna Mognet, Somerset; also a number of nieces and nephews. His death ends a marriage union of 61 years. Graduate of Penn State University, where he was a member of the band. Veteran of U.S. Army, World War I, and was a member of the Army Band. Retired from the West Penn Power Company, Kittanning, where he was a district engineer and a planning and design engineer. Member of: Amity United Church of Christ, Meyersdale, where he was an elder; Meyersdale Rotary Club; B.P.O.E. Lodge #1951; American Legion Post 112; and the Kittanning Kiwanis Club. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Carl Mitchell officiating.
