    Janet H. West, 75, Forest Road, Somerset, died Dec. 2, 1996, at St.
  Francis Medical Center, Pittsburgh.  Born March 9, 1921, in Windber,
  daughter of James and Margaret Houston.  Preceded in death by
  parents.  Survived by husband, Richard James West; 2 sons, Richard
  James III, Greensburg, and Keith H., Pittsburgh, and 5
  grandchildren.  Member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset. 
  Retired from Federal Soil Conservation.  Brief services were held
  Tuesday at George E. Mason Funeral Home, Davidsville, by the Rev.
  Keith Fink.  Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park at the
  convenience of the family.  Memorial service at a later date at St.
  Paul's Presbyterian Church, Somerset.  Those who wish may donate to
  the St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Choir.  George E. Mason Funeral
  Home in charge of service.
