Born Jan. 6, 1947, in Meyersdale, son of G.R. and Shirley (Thompson) Wetmiller. Survived by his parents; his wife, the former Amy Navity; sons: Jonathan David Wetmiller and Timothy Richard Wetmiller; paternal grandmother, Elfreda (Pyle) Wetmiller, maternal grandmother, Clara (Ellman) Brant; brothers: R. George Wetmiller, married to the former Alicia Kline; Mark W. Wetmiller, married to the former Melody Duppstadt, and Martin T. Wetmiller, married to the former Sherry Gross; great-aunt, Vera (Pyle) Pletcher; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was graduated as valedictorian of Berlin-Brothersvalley High School in 1965, graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1969, attended University of Pennsylvania Law School. Served in Naval Intelligence for the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. While stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, he became business editor for the Anchorage Daily News. Graduated from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1977, he became an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and served several congregations in Pennsylvania and Vermont. No visitation or viewing. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, with the Rev. Carl Schwarm officiating.
