(Shorty) Weyand, 54, Stoystown RD 1, died June 4, 1986, at home. Born Dec. 3, 1931, in Somerset County, son of the late Calvin Weyand and Mary (Miller) Weyand Rose. Preceded in death by brother, Fred, and stepfather, Ralph Rose. Survived by his wife, the former Frances Rose, whom he married on May 1, 1957; and these children: Fred, Kathleen, Richard and Robert, all at home. Brother of: Mrs. Edna Barron and Paul, both of Somerset; Mrs. Robert (Bea) Pugh, Friedens RD 1; Mrs. Cecil (Mabel) Williams, Leroy and Mrs. Larry (Grace) Nicklow, all of York; Charles, Listie; and Mrs. Calvin (Bessie) Zarefoss, Friedens. Owner of Weyand Trucking and former owner of Weyand Repair Shop. U.S. Army veteran of Korean War, member of the Somerset County Truckers Association. Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Remains will lie is state at Somerset Christian Fellowship Church from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. William J. Dodson officiating, assisted by the Rev. Charles T. Kelly. Interment, Odd-Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown. If friends desire, instead of flowers contributions may be given to the Somerset Christian Fellowship Church, Friedens RD 2.
