"Woody" Weyant, 78, of Hermitage, formerly of Somerset County, died July 24, 2002, at home. He was born Dec. 3, 1923, in Black Township, son of the late Earnest Sr. and Pearl (Sechler) Weyant. Preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Brant and Shelvy Jean Bentz and brother Earnest Jr. Survived by his wife, the former Ruth Burkholder whom he married Jan. 1, 1948; daughters: Joy l., married to Jay Deem of Berlin; and Ruthann D., married to John Bailey of Greenville; sons: Samuel E. of Farrell; and Timothy A. and wife Cheryl of Mercer; grandchildren: Laura Maust, Johnathan Bailey, Tara, Samantha and Heidi Weyant; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie Maust and Nicholas Rainey; step grandchildren: Michelle Blubaugh and Teresa Black; step great-grandchildren: Mitchell and Miranda Black, and Bethany Blubaugh. A brother of Pauline Blubaugh, Faith DeVoe and Roger, all of Berlin; Floyd of Meyersdale; and Judy Clements of Orlando, Fla. Member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church, Garrett. Retired from Cooper Jarrett Trucking Company, West Middlesex and Amis Leasing of Youngstown, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Deaner Funeral Home, Belin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Rev. Jay Christner officiating.
