WEYER George Logan Weyer, 50, formerly a resident of Meyersdale, died on Tuesday, February 27, from a severe attack of pneumonia, in St. Joseph's Hospital, Warren, O. Mr. Weyer, a veteran of World War I, came to Meyersdale as a salesman for H. J. Heinz in 1924. He was recently employed by The Copperweld Steel Company of Warren, Ohio. A preliminary service was held in Warren at the Gillen Funeral Home, under the auspices of the Copperweld Company, The American Legion, and the Loyal Order of Moose. The body was then removed to the Willig Funeral Home in McKeesport where the main service was held Friday, March 2, at 2:30. Rev. Wallace E. Fisher of Pittsburgh, assisted by Mr. Weyer's nephew, Rev. James N. Strohm of Ligonier, conducted the services. Music was rendered by Mrs. James Strohm and Shirley Dorman. Interment was in the Versailles Cemetery in McKeesport. He is survived by his wife, Mary Bolden Weyer; two daughters, Marcella and Anna Frances Weyer; his mother, Mrs. Mary Mains Weyer of McKeesport; a brother, James, also of McKeesport; five sisters: Mrs. Emily Strohm, Dravosburg; Mrs. Sara Meyer, Glassport; Mrs. Mary Lewis, Bellebridge; Mrs. Ida Mae Reynolds and Mrs. Pearl Elster, McKeesport. Mr. Weyer, who was born in McKeesport, was a son of the late George W. Weyer of that city. Meyersdale Republican, March 8, 1945
